How to Stack Jewellery Like a Pro (+ A Peek at My Mauritius Looks!)

Stacked jewellery is my vibe, as you all probably know by now! Whether you're layering up for a beach day on holiday, dressing up for a girls dinner, or just adding a little something extra to your everyday fit. On my recent trip to Mauritius, I brought some of my fave Bella Christie Jewellery pieces along and styled them into easy, bold stacks that gave main character energy every day.

A little backstory on the trip…

I went to Mauritius this April and honestly, it was the dreamiest spot for sun, sea, and everything you'd want from a beach holiday. Think white sandy beaches, turquoise water, fresh coconuts every morning, and that perfect golden glow at sunset (the best kind of backdrop for some BCJ sparkle!) So if you're planning a trip (or just manifesting one), keep reading for my go-to stack tips from the island!

Here’s how I styled my pieces — and my go-to tips for stacking like a pro!

1. Start With a Statement (Then Build Around It)

In Mauritius, my go-to piece was the Amara Bracelet — it’s chunky, gold plated coin charms don’t need a lot of help to stand out. But instead of stopping there, I paired it with the Coral Bangle and the Golden Drift Bracelet to add texture and layers! Because more, really is more.

Tip: Pick one chunky piece to lead the look, then add 1-2 different shapes or styles of bracelet to balance it out.

2. Mix Shapes & Textures — It’s All About Contrast

For one of the sunset dinners in Mauritius, I styled the Blush Ring as a statement piece and paired it with other chunkier, organic shapes like the Flora Ring as a thumb ring. I also love mixing pearls with gemstones, like wearing the divine Blue Lagoon Ring with the Cordelia Ring in Light Blue for a mix that feels like it should be too much but it’s just not.

Tip: Try combining pearls, gemstones and chunky gold shapes to make your stack feel layered and luxe.

3. Layer From Short to Long

Necklaces are the easiest way to experiment with stacking. In Mauritius, I lived in the Aphrodite Necklace layered with the Sequin Long Necklace — the combo gave that effortless but boujie, lived-in beach girl vibe (which I loved).

Tip: Use different lengths so each necklace can shine without tangling — and always throw in a charm for personality.

4. Balance Bold with Bare Skin

When it’s hot out (and you’re wearing less), you can definitely go bolder with your jewellery choices. In Mauritius, I wore the Tidal Treasures Belly Chain with swimwear. It looked so cute layered with a stack of bangles and rings.

Tip: If your outfit is simple, or you’re just wearing swimwear, let the jewellery do the talking.

5. Play With Mismatched Earrings

One of my fave ways to style earrings is to mix totally different pieces — like stacking a chunky shell earring such as the Elsie Earrings with the turquoise Arella Earrings and a gold huggy like Hibiscus Erarings. On my Mauritius trip, I loved wearing a bold combo: with a statement shell and a mix of gems and gold, it feels playful without looking too try-hard.

Jewellery stacking isn’t about following any strict rules — it’s about playing with textures, mixing shapes, and making each look your own. Whether you're heading somewhere tropical like I did, or just layering up for brunch at home, BCJ pieces are made to mix, match, and have fun with.
